My name is Max Beck, I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I started fishing for salmon, steelhead and pike as soon as I could hold a rod. From there I moved to Greensboro, NC and started fly fishing in the high country when I was a junior in high school. I enrolled at Appalachian State University and started fly fishing as much as I could. Entering my senior year of college I’m on the water a little over 200 days a year between guiding and fishing on my own to make sure that I’m fully prepared for changing river conditions to ensure guests have the best trip with me they possibly can. My favorite part about guiding is getting to show people my passion whether it be getting them on their first trout on fly or teaching a seasoned veteran new tricks.
